The San Francisco Exchange Company (SFX) was founded by current President & CEO Mel Grant in 1992.
Mr. Mel Grant entered into the timeshare industry in 1979. From 1979 to 1992, Mr. Grant gained invaluable industry knowledge and executive experience in the areas of sales, management and marketing of the timeshare industry. During this time, Mr. Grant saw the need for creating a highly specialized vacation exchange company which would create a network of only the highest rated, highest quality resorts in the USA, Mexico, the Caribbean, Canada, Europe and, eventually, expand into the other continents as well.
With his vision clearly defined, The San Francisco Exchange Company (SFX) was founded in 1992 by current President & CEO Mel Grant.
Before SFX, and in the earlier days of the timeshare industry, the exchange process restricted Owners to exchanging their property time into other properties that were exclusively with either one or two of the major exchange companies. More clearly, this meant timeshare Owners had their ability to exchange their time severely restricted to only using their home resort's affiliated exchange company.
SFX created a network of preferred resorts and opened the timeshare marketplace to a far greater freedom of choice and literally paved the opportunity for timeshare owners to enjoy exchanges into other preferred timeshare resorts no matter the property's actual affiliation.
Regardless of any resorts exchange company affiliation, individual timeshare Owners own the rights to their time and can request the service of any exchange company willing to accept their weeks for exchange. SFX allowed Owners to exercise this right to it's fullest, a never before realized value.
Today, SFX is rapidly approaching 100,000 members and operates a worldwide network of elite associations and has aligned itself with the most strategic and respected brand name resorts in the timeshare industry, all recognizing the exceeding value proposition of The San Francisco Exchange Company.
